Benefits of IFS HPC Certification
The IFS HPC Standard is relevant if your company works with one or several of the following four product categories.
- Cosmetic products / personal care products with skin contact (e.g. body lotion, shampoo, makeup etc.)
- Household products / materials in contact with food which are sold directly to the final consumer (e.g. disposable plates and cups, disposable cutlery, rubbish bags etc.)
- Personal hygiene products with skin contact (e.g. toothbrushes, razors, cleansing wipes etc.)

- Organization decides in favour or IFS standard.
- Organization selects IFS certification body. Offer, decision, signature of contract.
- Planning and preparation of the audit.
- Performance of audit
- Auditor drafts initial audit report and action plan.
- The organization completes the action plan and states corrective actions, then sends to TÜV NORD CERT/ the auditor.
- TÜV NORD CERT/the auditor reviews the competed action plan.
- - Decision on certification and validity of the certificate.
- Three months before the end of the validity, the organization receives information via the IFS portal, in order to agree the next audit date with TN CERT. The audit date may not be later than the last possible date for the surveillance audit stated in the certificate

What is the IFS HPC Standard?
The IFS HPC Standard (International Featured Standard – Household/Personal/Care) assesses the safety and quality of household and personal care products. It includes all the relevant factors (products/processes) of suppliers and manufacturers. IFS HPC is used where products are „processed“ or where packaging involves the risk of product contamination.

How to reach IFS HPC Scheme
- Issue of certificate, final report sent to audited organization
- TN CERT places the audit data on the IFS audit portal (http://www.ifs-certification.com/index.php/de/)
- Validity of certificate. Together with TNC: establishment of the audit date, the audit duration and the scope of the audit
- Identification of major/KO nonconformities, audit failed
- Suspension of current certificate
- Action plan and initial report to the audited organization
- Voluntary return of the completed action plan to the certification body
- Completion of the action plan and report – entry into the IFS portal
- No certificate
- Generation and sending of an automatic mail to all registered and released customers on the IFS portal
